FOX News Podcasts has released the first episode of its new program, "the Girls," featuring a discussion among five women on the Lindsay Clancy trial, the political activism of children's entertainer Ms. Rachel, and personal experiences with grief. The show, which debuted on Thursday, positions itself as a platform for unfiltered conversation where no subject is off-limits.

The premiere episode brought together Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner, Rachel Campos-Duffy, Kat Timpf, Melissa DeRosa, the former secretary to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and former ESPN host Samantha Ponder. Each episode of the series is designed to feature a rotating cast of women from various fields including news, politics, sports, comedy, and culture.

A central point of contention in the initial conversation was the case of Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts woman charged with murdering her three young children. Ponder offered a direct opinion on the outcome of the trial, which ended in a mistrial last month. "If I’m a mom and this has been done to my kids, I want this woman put away forever," Ponder said in a preview clip. "You can say things were hard, [but] you still gotta be in prison."

The hosts also debated whether Ms. Rachel is a negative influence due to her political views. Timpf defended the entertainer, arguing that the impact is not as significant as some suggest. She dismissed the idea that the singer harms children by comparing the situation to her own enjoyment of Michael Jackson music and Nirvana lyrics from her youth. Faulkner countered that parents should be aware of the political stances children might pick up from online figures. She questioned why she was familiar with Ms. Rachel's specific positions on immigration enforcement and border control.

The episode also addressed personal loss, with Timpf discussing the death of her father shortly before she became pregnant with her second child. Timpf revealed that she had spoken to her father the morning he died and later learned from a doctor that he had suffered an aortic dissection after initially visiting the hospital for a stomach ache. "Not to make it weird, but I think about death pretty much all the time because my dad died," Timpf said.

Timpf noted that her father was intensely focused on his health, which made his sudden death difficult to process. "He was very fit. He would not drink out of a plastic water bottle," she said. "When he died, he was going up north for a day of sailing." She added that her mother also died before turning 60 and that she had battled cancer during her first pregnancy.

"I almost learned the wrong lesson of like, ‘What can you do?’" Timpf said. "Do I want to live forever? I’m scared so much to die." The podcast is available on Fox News Digital, Apple, Spotify, YouTube and other podcast platforms.
