Tim Mynett, husband of Rep. Ilhan Omar, stated he has no concerns regarding federal investigations into the Minnesota Democrat's immigration paperwork following a raid by Homeland Security Investigations agents on the couple's Washington, D.C., home. Mynett told Fox News Digital that his wife arrived in the United States as a child war refugee at age 12. His remarks coincided with reports that Omar's relatives were issued subpoenas as part of the ongoing probe. The New York Times reported on Tuesday that at least two of Omar's relatives received subpoenas, with one confirmed to be her sister, Sahra Noor. Fox News has also learned that subpoenas were sent to multiple family members. These legal actions followed the search of the residence, which two sources familiar with the probe described as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into Omar's immigration pathway. The New York Post reported on Tuesday that Omar's staff adjusted her birth year from 1981 to 1982 in the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library, Wikipedia, and media outlets. This alteration was published during her entire tenure in the Minnesota House and for months after she began serving in Congress. Omar maintains that she obtained derivative citizenship through her father, Nur Omar Mohamed, when she was 17 years old, five years after leaving Somalia. She continues to deny allegations of immigration fraud. On Monday, Omar posted to X that former President Donald Trump has targeted her with baseless lies and smear campaigns for ten years, describing the current situation as the latest escalation in a campaign of political intimidation. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced on Tuesday that her office is also investigating Omar's financial disclosures concerning the shared net worth of herself and Mynett. Scrutiny of these finances increased after her 2024 congressional filing showed Mynett-linked business interests worth a combined $6 million to $30 million. Her office said the figures were incorrect and amended the filing. The largest change involved Mynett's assets; his reported ownership interests in his winery and venture capital advisory firm, previously valued in the millions, are now listed with no value. In the original 2024 records, Mynett's share in his winery was valued between $1 million and $5 million, and his share in the venture capital advisory firm was valued between $5 million and $25 million. Both equity interests are now listed at $0 in the amended documents. Omar's office told Fox News Digital that Mynett has partners in both businesses and that the earlier disclosure mistakenly reflected the businesses' total equity rather than his specific ownership interest. The office also stated that the original filing listed assets without accounting for liabilities.
