A Texas Tech fan posted on social media that pages from what appears to be the Colorado Buffaloes' playbook were left behind at a bar inside the hotel where the team was staying ahead of their matchup against the Red Raiders. The claim, shared under the username VivaTerlingua on On3's Inside The Double T message board on Friday, alleged the discovery of a 25-page document containing opening plays, red zone information, and team tendencies. The user stated they would bet large amounts of money that the items found were the actual Colorado playbook.

While the original poster claimed not to be posting photos, another individual identified as a buddy to the group shared videos to Instagram showing different pages. These visuals appeared to correspond with the plays Colorado called early in their game against Texas Tech. A separate user on X shared a video early Sunday morning that compared the alleged play sheet with the first six offensive plays executed by Colorado, noting that they appeared to match.

The incident occurred in the lead-up to Saturday night's game, where the Red Raiders defense dominated the Buffaloes' offense. Although Colorado scored on its opening drive, the team struggled significantly thereafter. The Buffaloes threw four interceptions in the second half alone, contributing to a decisive 29-7 loss for Texas Tech. This victory moved the Red Raiders to an unbeaten 5-0 record for the season.

There is no evidence that anyone on the Texas Tech staff received or viewed a copy of the alleged playbook pages. However, the story has gained significant attention, casting a negative light on Colorado head coach Deion Sanders and his program. The Buffaloes fell to a 2-3 record with the defeat and have been outscored 93-27 across their last three games combined. The lack of confirmed evidence regarding whether a Colorado staffer actually left a playbook at the hotel bar remains a point of uncertainty, though the visual comparisons shared online have intensified scrutiny on the team's recent struggles.
