Amazon launches early October Prime Day hardware discounts

Amazon is offering Prime Big Deal Day discounts on its own hardware and select third-party products ahead of the official October Prime Day event, which begins at 3 a.m. ET on October 6 and runs until 3 a.m. ET on October 8. The retailer notes that these early offers provide a preview of deals likely to return during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, allowing shoppers to complete purchases before the holiday season intensifies.

The promotional lineup includes significant reductions on Ring security devices. The Ring Battery Doorbell 2K is listed at $39.99, down from its original price of $99.99, at both Amazon and Best Buy. While the device features 2K video and easy installation, users must disconnect it to charge the built-in battery via USB-C. The higher-end Ring Battery Doorbell 4K Pro is available for $149.99, reduced from $249.99, offering 4K recording with 10x digital zoom and a swappable battery system.

Among other notable electronics, the Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet is priced at $79.99 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model at Amazon, a drop from $129.99. A 3GB RAM and 32GB version is available at Best Buy for $54.99, down from $99.99. Both models include lockscreen ads and do not natively support the Google Play Store, though sideloading is possible.

Streaming hardware also sees substantial price cuts. The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Plus is available for $37.99 at Amazon and Best Buy, reduced from $69.99, and supports Wi-Fi 6, Dolby Atmos, and HDR10 Plus. The top-tier Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) is priced at $44.99, down from $84.99, featuring Wi-Fi 6E support and double the storage of its predecessor. The Amazon Fire TV Cube (2022) is available for $89.99, a discount from its $199.99 original price.

Smart home speakers and displays are included in the sale. The Amazon Echo Dot (Fifth-Gen) is marked down to $39.99 from $79.99 at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target. It supports Matter-compatible smart home devices and can function as an extender for Eero Wi-Fi systems. The new Amazon Echo Dot Max, which features an improved two-way speaker system and out-of-the-box support for the AI-powered Alexa Plus assistant, is available for $79.99, reduced from $119.99.

The Amazon Echo Show 11 (2025) is priced at $149.99, down from $249.99, offering an 11-inch screen with 1080p resolution and support for Thread, Matter, and Zigbee protocols. The larger Echo Show 15 is available for $249.99, reduced from $349.99.

In the category of home cleaning robots, the Ecovacs Deebot X12 OmniCyclone is listed at $799 at Amazon, a discount from its $1,499.99 original price.
