Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, faces criminal homicide charges after allegedly stabbing her husband, Charles "Chaz" Harrison, 36, and their three-year-old son to death inside a hotel room at the Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania's Pocono region. Investigators stated that the incident occurred on Monday during the family's extended three-week stay at the resort.
According to the criminal complaint, police responded to a 911 call regarding a "suicidal woman" who "needed help dying." Officers discovered both victims with stab wounds inside their room, along with knives, blood, and various medications. The complaint alleges that Metallica Rose Harrison used "butcher knives" in the attack. The couple is from the small rural town of Towanda, Pennsylvania.
The family checked into the resort on September 21 and was scheduled to check out on Tuesday. A Great Wolf Lodge spokesperson told Fox News Digital that while a multi-week stay is uncommon, it is not completely unusual for families completing home renovations or repairs, as the rooms are larger and offer significant entertainment options. The resort can cost more than $600 a night. The spokesperson did not specify how the family was paying for the accommodation and directed inquiries about case specifics to law enforcement, stating the company is cooperating fully with the investigation.
Metallica Rose Harrison has been held in a Monroe County jail cell without bond. Court records indicate she is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on October 21. Before the incident, she had posted photos of the family at the resort's waterpark on social media. The couple appears to have been married for three years.
Melissa Rivera, who identified herself as Chaz Harrison's sister, expressed the family's grief in an online post. She described the passing as sudden and stated that Chaz was a good guy whose life centered around his wife and child. Rivera noted that the pain of losing both him and her nephew unexpectedly is hard to put into words. She has created an online fundraiser to cover funeral expenses.
