Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy stated that artificial intelligence will liberate Americans from the "medical tyranny" of doctors and health experts. Speaking at a Make America Healthy Again event on Tuesday, Kennedy described the technology as "better informed than any doctor in the country." He urged citizens to use AI to obtain second opinions regarding medical recommendations, arguing that this capability would prevent public officials from dominating public health guidance. Vice President JD Vance, who participated in a fireside chat with Kennedy, expressed surprise at the topic shift. Vance noted he had expected to discuss weight loss and acid rather than artificial intelligence. Kennedy asserted that the Trump administration is "making it easy for every American to use AI." He further suggested the technology would validate his views on vaccines and contrarian public health positions. Kennedy argued that the era of officials instructing the public to trust experts is over, because individuals will now be able to verify their own medical advice.
